Initial work began in 2004\, and in that year draft texts were prepared. On 20 January 2005\, Chile and India signed a Framework Agreement to Promote Economic Cooperation\, aimed at promoting the expansion of trade and providing the conditions and mechanisms for the negotiation of a free trade agreement\, and the launch of negotiations towards a limited scope Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) in 2005 were announced.   \nIndia’s exports to Chile had been growing steadily since 2009\, with the exception of a slight decrease in 2014\, when a new carbon tax on diesel vehicles in Chile adversely affected motor vehicle exports from India\, but this sector has seen a big recovery. The expanded preferential trade agreement began implementation in May 2017 and since then India’s exports to Chile have increased.       \nWHY EDIFICA?  \nFor 33 years\, EDIFICA has been bringing together in one place all the players in the sector to showcase the latest trends\, advances in building solutions and technologies. The fair provides more than 2\,000 direct jobs and generates around US$10.5 million in revenue for the city of Santiago\, the capital of Chile.  \nThe next edition inspires us to strengthen the reactivation and commercial opportunities\, providing the necessary knowledge to advance and recover our economy.
