Dutch textile innovator BYBORRE will present DUNE, a new 3D knitted textile collection created in collaboration with London-based design studio Raw Edges, during the London Design Festival, taking place from 12–20 September 2026.
The DUNE collection draws inspiration from natural and human-shaped landscapes, including earthworks, crop circles, ploughed fields, and patterns formed in sand and snow. These visual references have been translated into knitted structures, allowing the patterns to become part of the textile itself.
The collection features warm, earthy neutral tones combined with a natural wool blend. Through three-dimensional knitting, geometric designs are integrated directly into the material, creating embossed and tactile surfaces. The depth and texture are formed within the textile structure rather than added as surface decoration.
The collaboration combines BYBORRE’s expertise in engineered knitted textiles with the experimental design approach of Raw Edges, the London studio founded by designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay.
DUNE Presentation at WAX Building
DUNE will be presented at the WAX Building in Shoreditch as part of London Design Festival. The converted Victorian furniture factory is home to a group of independent British design brands and will host its WAX 2026 programme from 15–20 September.
For the presentation, the textile will be used to upholster a sofa designed by Raw Edges for furniture company Cozmo. According to the London Design Festival programme, the collaboration examines how geometric patterns can be generated directly through 3D knitting, creating relief-like surfaces where the motifs are incorporated into the textile structure.
Located at 4 Garden Walk in Shoreditch, the WAX Building occupies four floors of a former factory that was once used for waxing and shellacking furniture. It now serves as a permanent London base for independent design brands including Cozmo, Tamart, Minimalux and LightMass.
BYBORRE and its collaborators will mark the launch with an evening event on Tuesday 15 September from 18:00 to 21:00. DUNE will remain on display at the WAX Building until 20 September, allowing visitors to view the knitted structures at close range.
BYBORRE Expands London Presence
The DUNE launch adds to BYBORRE’s growing presence in London. Earlier in 2026, the Amsterdam-based textile company partnered with Insidesource and Sancal to establish a shared showroom in Clerkenwell, bringing together furniture, workplace solutions and textile innovation.
BYBORRE will also take part in London Design Festival activities at the Clerkenwell showroom, where new products, materials and collaborations will be presented from 14–18 September.
