Nonwovens association highlights industry issues and technical standards at Chicago event
INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, concluded its participation in the 2026 National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit, held in Chicago, Illinois.
The event attracted more than 9,000 state legislators, legislative directors, policy staffers, international delegates and industry stakeholders from across the country. This marked the fourth time INDA exhibited at the NCSL Legislative Summit.
INDA Highlights Nonwovens Industry Issues
Representing INDA at the exhibition, Wes Fisher, Director of Government Affairs, and Kevin Conroy, Senior Manager of Government Affairs, engaged with attendees on legislative and technical topics affecting the nonwovens industry.
Discussions at the INDA booth covered flushability standards, the California Collection Study, state-level wipes labeling legislation and the broader economic footprint of the nonwovens sector.
Commenting on INDA’s participation, Wes Fisher, Director of Government Affairs at INDA, said:

Nonwovens Industry Engages with State Policymakers
The NCSL Legislative Summit is one of the largest gatherings of state lawmakers, policy experts, corporations and trade associations in the United States. The annual event provides a platform for discussions around state-level policy and regulatory issues.
INDA’s participation focused on providing policymakers and legislative stakeholders with information on the nonwovens industry and issues related to consumer and industrial products.
