Nuyarn® Technologies has partnered with Unknown Runner, a Flagstaff, Arizona-based performance apparel brand, to introduce the Courser Collection—a new range of ultralight merino wool trail running apparel engineered for high-performance use in hot and variable outdoor conditions.
The collaboration combines Unknown Runner’s trail-focused apparel design with Nuyarn’s proprietary merino yarn technology to deliver lightweight, breathable garments offering enhanced moisture management, durability and temperature regulation.
Merino Wool Meets Advanced Yarn Innovation
At the heart of the Courser Collection is a 115 GSM merino performance fabric featuring a blend of 63% merino wool, 29% polyester and 8% nylon. The open-knit construction is designed to maximise airflow while providing natural temperature regulation, odour resistance and next-to-skin comfort for endurance athletes.
The collection targets trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts seeking lightweight apparel capable of performing in demanding environments without compromising comfort.
Nuyarn Technology Enhances Performance
Nuyarn’s patented drafting technology wraps fine merino fibres around a nylon filament instead of twisting fibres using conventional spinning methods. This innovative construction creates yarns that are lighter, stronger and faster drying while maintaining the natural performance characteristics of wool.
Combined with polyester knitting, the resulting fabric delivers exceptional breathability, rapid moisture evaporation and long-term durability suitable for repeated use in high-intensity outdoor activities.
According to the company, Nuyarn technology provides up to five times faster drying and eight times greater durability compared to conventional merino yarn constructions.

The Courser Collection has been developed specifically for trail running, where athletes encounter changing temperatures, extended physical activity and challenging weather conditions.
