In April 2024, William Clark & Sons, Northern Ireland’s oldest linen producer, commissioned a modern finishing facility near their historic site. This expansion was driven by space limitations at their original location, which has been in operation for over 300 years.
The new plant features cutting-edge equipment, including a BRÜCKNER 6-zone stenter frame with vertical return pin chain. This versatile line supports finishing for a wide range of applications—from apparel and military uniforms to home furnishings and technical textiles.
The line includes a two-bowl pad mangle and a multifunctional knife coating unit, enabling a variety of treatments such as water and stain repellency, flame retardancy, fabric softening or stiffening, and abrasion resistance.
To ensure energy efficiency and precise quality control, the system is equipped with advanced recipe management tools and batch-specific energy monitoring. Exhaust air regulation via sensors further optimizes environmental performance.
Kevin Devlin, Plant Manager, shared, “This investment was key to maintaining cost control and consistent quality. BRÜCKNER proved to be a reliable partner, and we look forward to future collaboration.”
