Monforts to Spotlight Tech at Morocco Stitch & Tex 2025

As North Africa gears up for an industrial leap, Monforts, the renowned German textile machinery manufacturer, will exhibit at Morocco Stitch & Tex 2025, held from May 13–15 at the Casablanca International Fairground (OFEC). This comes at a transformative time for Morocco and the broader North African textile sector, which is seeking to move up the value chain by investing in domestic textile production and finishing capabilities.

Strategically located near Europe, Morocco offers competitive operational costs and trade benefits, including its free trade agreement with the USA and its position among the top 10 suppliers to the EU. The nation is also well-positioned to benefit from potential U.S. tariff shifts that could redirect sourcing from Asia to closer regions.

Monforts: A Global Standard in Finishing Technology

Monforts brings over 140 years of experience in the textile machinery sector. Known for its Montex stenters, a benchmark in denim and home textile finishing, the company also manufactures relaxation dryers, Thermex dyeing systems, compressive shrinking ranges, and advanced coating units like MontexCoat and coaTTex.

All machines are designed with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, durability, and production throughput. Many of the 2,000+ Monforts machines in global operation are decades old, and the company continues to offer retrofitting solutions—upgrading older models with modern controls and automation for enhanced performance.

Booming Demand and Regional Growth

Monforts has an established footprint in Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt, with double-digit growth in European machinery imports into Morocco. According to Achim Gesser, Monforts Area Sales Manager, the region is witnessing a surge in textile investment projects, including Africa’s largest textile city, a $2 billion initiative featuring 568 new factories.

There is also growing interest from Turkish manufacturers, many of whom already use Monforts systems. With over 600 lines installed in Turkiye, Monforts expects to welcome long-time partners and new prospects at the exhibition, co-hosted with regional partner Unionmatex at stand D4.

Industry Ambitions Aligned

Morocco’s Vision 2025 aims to drive $10 billion in garment and apparel sector revenues, with an average annual growth rate of 15%. Stitch & Tex 2025 will spotlight the entire textile value chain, from fiber and yarn to machinery and finished apparel, and Monforts is poised to support businesses eager to capitalize on this unprecedented growth phase.
