Maharashtra is setting up its first technical textile park in the Dharashiv (formerly Osmanabad) district of the Marathwada region. The park will be established over 308 acres in the Kaudgaon MIDC area, with an overall project plan valued at ₹118 crore (approximately USD 13.76 million).
The first phase of the development, worth ₹16 crore (USD 1.86 million), has already commenced and was inaugurated by BJP MLA Rana Jagjitsinh Patil. This initiative is attracting substantial investment from prominent global companies, creating promising employment opportunities for the local population in Dharashiv.
Kaudgaon is considered a strategic location for this textile hub. It lies just 13 km from both Dharashiv city and its railway station, with excellent access to major road networks—particularly the SH 65 Dharashiv-Barshi highway, located only 3 km away.
The Kaudgaon MIDC area is well-supported with essential infrastructure. Power supply is ensured by a nearby MSEDCL 33/11 KV substation located 5 km from the site, and a 50 MW solar park by Mahagenco is also in close proximity. Additionally, a Reliance gas pipeline (600 mm in diameter) runs adjacent to the park. Water requirements will be met through a 20 MLD supply sourced from the Ujani Dam.
