Dornbirn GFC 2025 to Spotlight Circular Innovation & Climate Action

The 64th Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) will take place from September 10–12, 2025, in Dornbirn, Austria, gathering over 100 global experts to explore transformative solutions in fiber innovation, sustainability, and circularity under the theme “From Carbon to Circular – Join the Transformation.”

This year’s congress will feature a redesigned modular venue that promotes interaction, with 2.5 days of focused programming across key topics: Protective Wear & Defence, Carbon Stewardship (from biomass to carbon capture), and Fiber Innovations across the supply chain. Short expert talks followed by interactive Q&A panels aim to foster dialogue and quick knowledge transfer.

Keynotes will be delivered by Dr. Ingrid Sebald (TESA) on product circularity, Prof. Dr. Franz Josef Radermacher on viable climate pathways, and a CEO panel titled “Camouflage or Climate?” exploring real versus superficial sustainability.

Special events include:

  • REHUBS session on fiber-to-fiber recycling
  • Dornbirn GFC Innovation Award for live startup pitches
  • Launch of MICRO|FORCE, a global initiative against microplastic pollution in collaboration with TU Crete, TU Wien, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography

Digital engagement tools like live polls and anonymous Q&As will support inclusive participation.

As Robert van de Kerkhof, President of the Austrian Fiber Institute, stated: “Dornbirn GFC 2025 is a rallying point for urgent action—bridging intention and implementation in the fiber and textile value chain.”
