The highly anticipated 10th edition of the India Machine Tools Show (IMTS) was officially inaugurated on Friday in New Delhi. Running from July 11–14, the biennial event stands as a major showcase for cutting-edge technologies in machine tools, automation, and manufacturing, bringing together domestic and international players.
Over 300 exhibitors from 14 countries are participating, collectively displaying more than 2,500 advanced industrial solutions. Organisers anticipate a footfall of 50,000+ business visitors from more than 25 nations, reflecting the show’s growing global appeal.
Organised by K and D Communication Ltd., the event is backed by key industry associations such as the Laser Industries Association of India, Ludhiana Machine Tools Manufacturers Association, and Machine Tool Manufacturers Association Rajkot. Prominent participation has been recorded from Germany, Japan, the UK, USA, Italy, France, Netherlands, China, Taiwan, Korea, UAE, and Turkey.
At the opening ceremony, Amit Mistry, General Manager at K and D Communication, remarked:
“The India Machine Tools Show has become one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in India. Machine tools are vital to India’s vision of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse. This 10th edition marks a major milestone, setting the stage for growth, innovation, and collaboration. The last edition generated business worth ₹1,295 crore—we are confident this one will surpass that.”
India is currently among the top 10 machine tool producers globally, with a market size of $2.4 billion, projected to reach $4 billion by 2030, driven by a CAGR of over 10%. Growth in automotive, aerospace, defence, electronics, and precision engineering is expected to fuel demand. Notably, the automotive sector alone—soon to be the third-largest in the world—is projected to contribute 12% to India’s GDP by 2025.
Exhibits span multiple categories, including:
- Cutting & forming machine tools
- Robotics & automation
- Additive manufacturing
- Laser technology & welding machinery
- Industrial safety gear
- Testing systems, casting & forging components
- Hydraulics & pneumatics
This year, dedicated focus zones spotlight laser and welding tech, castings and foundries, and brass components. Specialized areas have also been carved out for robotics, automation, and metrology.
Complementing the exhibition are vendor development sessions, buyer-seller meets, and technical seminars, designed to enhance industry collaboration.
The event is being hosted for the first time at the newly inaugurated Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, a world-class venue developed by the Government of India as a symbol of the nation’s rapid industrial and infrastructural progress.
With a legacy of over 2,000 exhibitors and 3,00,000 visitors across nine previous editions, the India Machine Tools Show continues to set benchmarks in the capital goods and manufacturing ecosystem—offering vital opportunities for trade, innovation, and international expansion.
