The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Delhi reported that, with the objective of attracting investments, creating employment, and boosting exports in the textile sector, the Ministry of Textiles has been implementing the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP). The scheme aims to support the establishment of textile parks with world-class, state-of-the-art infrastructure in textile hubs across India.
The SITP was operational until March 31, 2021, and has now been subsumed under the Textile Cluster Development Scheme (TCDS), focusing only on completing ongoing projects.
The Ministry regularly monitors all approved projects through the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and the Office of the Textile Commissioner. The PMC is responsible for tracking both physical and financial milestones, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and compliance with quality standards.
Under SITP, 50 parks were sanctioned, including 4 parks in Andhra Pradesh. Of these, 30 parks have been completed while 20 are in various stages of implementation. To date, the Government of India has released ₹1,532 crore under the scheme, generating employment for 1.23 lakh people. The state-wise details of these projects are available in official records.
In addition, the Ministry has finalised PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks at seven sites: Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navasari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), and Maharashtra (Amravati). These parks have a total outlay of ₹4,445 crore for a seven-year period, up to 2027–28.
