Enhanced Large-Capacity Gear Pumps to be Showcased at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore

Precision gear metering specialist Slack & Parr will highlight its latest line of large-capacity gear pumps for heavy denier, industrial, and nonwoven markets at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, taking place in Singapore from October 28–31, in Hall 4, Stand D305.

A member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), Slack & Parr supplies its high-precision gear metering pumps across the global manmade fibre market. These pumps are widely used to process polymers and fibres, ensuring consistency and uniformity in producing high-quality yarns and textiles such as acrylic, polyester, nylon, spandex, and aramid.

With decades of expertise in the technical textiles sector, the company has now introduced an enhanced range of specialist IDY pumps. Engineered to handle high-viscosity polymers, these pumps provide a robust and dependable solution for industrial yarn production. They are designed to operate under high pressures and temperatures while maintaining accurate flow control across variable speeds.

The new industrial yarn pumps were developed in collaboration with a leading Japanese plant equipment manufacturer. As part of this joint effort, Slack & Parr conducted a comprehensive review of pump designs, focusing on performance, durability, and material selection. Following an extensive testing phase, the company received approval to supply its technologies for the manufacturer’s machinery, suitable for both new and existing IDY machine installations worldwide.

Visitors at ITMA Asia will be able to explore the pumps’ features tailored to specific applications. The product line includes 1- and 2-outlet models with capacities from 5–50cc/rev, extendable to 100cc/rev in the single-stream version, along with 4-outlet models ranging from 15–50cc/rev. All models offer flexible sealing methods and drive options.

Commenting on market trends, Paul Wykes, Slack & Parr’s Global Sales Director, stated:
“We’re seeing steady growth in the industrial yarn market as manufacturers look to diversify into new areas of technical textiles, to expand their portfolios and increase profitability while retaining market share. Customers that have traditionally focused their businesses in commodity markets like polyester and nylon are now using their expertise to expand into speciality fibre and industrial markets.
As a trusted partner with an extensive range of products developed and tested over many decades and the expertise and flexibility to be able to match our metering technologies to the exact needs of the application, we’re ideally placed to partner with manufacturers that want to diversify into new markets.”
