Saurer Unveils Yarn Innovations at ITMA Asia 2025

Saurer is set to unveil its latest technological innovations at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore, at booth C301 in Hall 3. Showcasing advancements in spinning, twisting, and automation, Saurer underlines its dedication to enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and digitalisation in the textile industry — paving the way for the yarns of tomorrow.

Key exhibits include the Autocard SC8 with Autocoil 3 featuring the PDS Pre-Draft System and rectangular cans, the new Hunter S1 can-transport AGV, the Zinser 51 ring spinning machine with the compact Zpact FX system, and the Autocoro 11 rotor spinning station with the Duo Sliver Feeding concept and the CompactTwister.

Yarn creation is central to fashion and interior design, where factors like structure, stretch, hairiness, and even colour are determined during the spinning or twisting process. Saurer’s cutting-edge machinery, automation solutions, and services help textile producers optimise operations, stay flexible, and save resources. Booth visitors at C301 will be able to explore innovations in detail, interact with experts, and discover how Saurer is shaping the future of textile production.

Hailin Xu, CEO of Saurer, stated:
“Leading technology for the yarns of tomorrow — this is what drives us to create innovative solutions for spinning and twisting mills worldwide. In Singapore, we look forward to demonstrating how our forward-thinking technologies empower textile manufacturers to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.”

Spinning Preparation: Elevating Yarn Quality

At ITMA Asia, Saurer will present the Autocard SC8, engineered for superior sliver quality, high productivity, and improved energy efficiency. Featuring a 4.8 m² carding area with a 1.38 m width and a 1.46 m cylinder diameter, the SC8’s innovative design and optimised licker-in and doffer positioning maximise carding efficiency.

The Autocoil 3 with PDS pre-draft system and rectangular cans enables pre-drafted slivers to be used directly on rotor spinning machines, shortening the production process. Rectangular cans increase storage capacity, reduce can changes, and improve production efficiency, energy use, and yarn quality.

Advanced Automation Solutions

The Hunter S1 can-transport AGV features a “lift-and-transport” design to prevent wheel jams and failures, ensuring smooth can handling across departments such as carding, drawing, roving, and rotor spinning. Fully integrable with Saurer’s Senses Mill digital management system, Hunter S1 merges automation with digitalisation for enhanced efficiency.

Spinning with Innovation and Flexibility

The Zinser 51 ring spinning machine with 2056 spindles blends precision engineering and automation to deliver consistent yarn quality and high productivity with energy efficiency. Its compact Zpact FX system ensures high speeds with perfect fibre control.

The Autocoro 11 rotor spinning station, featuring the Duo Sliver Feeding concept, transforms mélange and blended yarn production by blending two slivers in 1% increments. This innovation offers unmatched flexibility, reproducibility, and the ability to economically produce coloured mélange yarns in smaller batches, reducing pre-spinning costs.

Additional innovations include the Autoairo air spinning station for different fibre compositions, the BD 8 rotor spinning machine with 1200 positions and energy-saving Twinsuction system, and Texparts components ensuring premium yarn quality.

Twisting Innovations for Recycled Yarns

Responding to growing demand for stronger recycled yarns, Saurer will present the CompactTwister, setting a benchmark in yarn twisting for quality, energy efficiency, flexibility, and maintenance. Its portfolio includes intelligent twisting and cabling machines for various yarn types including staple fibre, glass filament, carpet, tire cord, and industrial yarns.

Saurer’s machinery is developed to support the highest productivity while offering complete solutions for processing even the shortest recycled fibres — from bale to yarn.

Saurer warmly invites all attendees to visit booth C301 in Hall 3 at ITMA Asia in Singapore to explore these innovations firsthand.
