Loop Industries, Inc., a clean technology company focused on accelerating the circular economy, has announced a multi-year offtake agreement with Nike, Inc. Under this partnership, Loop will supply Twist™, its virgin-quality circular polyester resin made entirely from textile waste. Nike will serve as the anchor customer for the Infinite Loop™ India manufacturing facility, currently under construction in collaboration with Ester Industries.
This agreement marks a significant step in Loop’s commercialisation strategy while reinforcing Nike’s commitment to sustainable innovation. By integrating Twist™ resin into its product lines, Nike aims to reduce reliance on both virgin and recycled flake polyester, supporting a closed-loop model for textile production.
The upcoming Infinite Loop™ India facility is expected to generate major environmental benefits compared to conventional polyester production. It is projected to deliver an 81% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to approximately 418,600 tonnes of CO₂ savings annually — the same as removing more than one billion miles driven by an average gasoline-powered vehicle each year.
In addition, products made using Twist™ will feature full traceability enabled by Loop’s proprietary chemical tracer technology. This system offers verifiable proof of textile-to-textile recycled content, ensuring transparency and accountability across the value chain.
Sitora Muzafarova, Vice President of Materials Supply Chain at Nike, stated that the agreement represents a key step toward turning textile waste into high-performance materials, aligning with Nike’s goal to scale sustainable solutions without compromising quality.
Daniel Solomita, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Loop Industries, described Nike’s participation as a major milestone for both Loop and Infinite Loop™ India, highlighting it as a strong validation of Loop’s vision for a verifiable, circular polyester solution.
Arvind Singhania, Chairman of Ester Industries Limited, also emphasised that collaborating with Nike reflects growing confidence among global brands in Ester’s capability to deliver high-performance recycled materials at an industrial scale.
The Infinite Loop™ India project underscores a forward move in making large-scale textile recycling a commercial and environmental reality.
