Hygienix™ 2025 Highlights Innovation and Sustainability in Absorbent Hygiene Sector

The 11th annual Hygienix™ event, held from November 17–20 in Orlando, Florida, brought together global leaders from the absorbent hygiene and personal care sectors to discuss advancements in materials, sustainability, and product innovation.

INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, announced Confitex Technology as the winner of the 2025 Hygienix™ Innovation Award™ for its Washable Nonwoven Sanitary Pads. The product is noted as the world’s first washable nonwoven sanitary pad made without SAPs, developed to support a growing shift toward reusable absorbent hygiene products. Finalists Dukane (Curved Leg Elastic) and ZymoChem (BAYSE™) were also recognised for their contributions to performance and sustainability.

The event offered multiple networking opportunities, including the Women in Nonwovens Luncheon, Lightning Talks, evening receptions, exhibits, and a founder-led Lunch Around session with Olivia Ahn of Planera.

The technical programme covered circular and bio-based materials, PFAS-free chemistries, regulatory developments, consumer trends, and new application areas such as pet care and eczema-friendly testing. Pre-conference workshops focused on absorption systems, menstrual care innovation, and baby and infant care markets.

Speakers represented a wide range of organisations across the global supply chain, including Absorbent Hygiene Insights, BAHP, Euromonitor International, Lenzing AG, Trützschler Nonwovens, Woolchemy NZ and others.

Strong attendance from brand owners, converters, material suppliers and start-ups marked the event, reinforcing Hygienix as a key annual platform for collaboration and innovation in the absorbent hygiene industry.
