Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics has unveiled the Spring/Summer 2027 trend forecast, themed PARADOX, highlighting optimism, consumer engagement, and a focus on well-being. The concept explores bold yet thoughtful fashion directions, connecting four key trends: AFFECTION, BREATHE, BEWITCHING, and HONOURATION.
From 11–13 March 2026, visitors can explore these trends at the Trend Forum, Hall 5.1 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai. The forum will feature over 700 fabric and accessory samples, with a Trend Guide serving as a reference for on-trend sourcing of fabrics, patterns, prints, and colours.
Global Collaboration Brings PARADOX to Life
The S/S 2027 forecast is the result of a collaboration between international trend forecasters: Sachiko Inoue (Tokyo), NellyRodi™ Agency (Paris), DONEGER | TOBE (New York), and Elementi Moda (Milan). Their combined expertise has shaped a vision that champions individuality, authenticity, and a balance between elegance and functionality.
Trend Highlights:
- AFFECTION: Citywear evolves into easywear for comfort and versatility, blending masculine and feminine elements. Colours range from whites and off-whites to soft greys, greenery, and sunrise yellow. Fabrics mix tech fibers with precious wool, featuring subtle stripes and poetic patterns.
- BREATHE: Inspired by nautical codes, this theme combines urban elegance with smart, weather-adapted functionality. Aqua and oxygenated blues dominate, alongside innovative soft-touch fabrics, jacquard burnouts, satin finishes, and wave-like dévoré denim.
- BEWITCHING: Exuding effortless sophistication and nocturnal inspiration, this trend features fluid drapes, organic prints, and symbolic colours against dark backgrounds. Fabrics include chiffons, organza, silks, tie-dye textures, and shiny satin for a mysterious yet vibrant aesthetic.
- HONOURATION: Showcasing artisanal excellence and global craftsmanship, this theme emphasizes modest materials elevated through technique. The palette blends warm neutrals with vivid brights, and fabrics feature ikats, geometric patterns, basketweaves, blurred stripes, and neoclassical flora.

Exhibitors interested in showcasing fabrics at the Trend Forum can submit applications until 6 January 2026. The Spring Edition is co-organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Centre.
