Circulose and Birla Cellulose Join Forces to Scale Circular Textiles

Circulose, a specialist in recycled textile pulp for the fashion and textile industry, has entered into a strategic partnership with Birla Cellulose, a global leader in sustainable viscose fibre, to accelerate the transition toward large-scale textile recycling and circular material flows.

The agreement aligns with Circulose’s refreshed business strategy, which places stronger emphasis on close collaboration with brands and on delivering integrated, end-to-end circular solutions across the textile value chain. As part of the partnership, Circulose will supply pulp produced entirely from recycled textile waste, while Birla Cellulose will manufacture viscose staple fibre using CIRCULOSE® pulp and make it available to Circulose’s brand partners.

“Over the past year, we’ve refined our approach to put brands at the center, with a clear focus on creating offerings that enable mainstream adoption. Achieving this requires closer collaboration with key partners across the value chain. Our partnership with Birla Cellulose is a cornerstone of our strategy, and we’re very excited to have them onboard,” says Jonatan Janmark, CEO of Circulose.

Birla Cellulose, consistently ranked among top performers in Canopy’s Hot Button Report, is internationally recognised for its leadership in sustainability and circularity. The two companies have worked together since the early days of Renewcell, and Birla Cellulose continues to play a prominent role in advancing industrial-scale circular textile solutions in India and globally.

“Our partnership with Circulose marks a significant step forward in advancing sustainable and responsible sourcing. Through this collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainability-conscious fiber solutions that empower our customers and contribute to a circular future,” says Vadiraj Kulkarni, Business Head, Birla Cellulose.

Together, the partners aim to drive long-term systemic change by enabling a circular textile value chain that supports responsible sourcing, reduced waste, and scalable adoption by global brands.
