Zenitex’s Viral Desai Wins National Energy Conservation Award 2025

Zenitex, the Gujarat-based textile company led by noted environmentalist and industrialist Viral Sudhir Desai, has once again earned national recognition for its leadership in energy efficiency. Popularly known as the “Greenman”, Desai has steered Zenitex to win the Best Performing Unit Award in the Textile (Small Unit) category at the National Energy Conservation Award (NECA) 2025.

The prestigious honour was conferred during the National Energy Day celebrations in New Delhi, held in the distinguished presence of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who attended the ceremony as Chief Guest.

This latest achievement marks Zenitex’s third consecutive Golden Trophy and sixth National Award overall, underlining the company’s sustained and measurable contributions to energy conservation within India’s textile sector. The recognition reflects years of consistent investment in energy-efficient processes, responsible resource management, and environmentally conscious manufacturing practices.

Reacting to the milestone, Viral Desai reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to sustainability, stating, “This award is not just for me or my company, but for everyone committed to nature. Energy conservation is the need of the hour and my resolve to save the environment will only grow stronger. This honor inspires me further to keep working towards a ‘Clean and Green’ future.”

Zenitex’s continued success at the national level positions the company as a benchmark for small textile units striving to align operational excellence with environmental responsibility, while reinforcing the role of industry leadership in India’s clean energy transition.
