Intertextile Shenzhen 2026 Highlights AI Textile Innovation

As the city strengthens its position as a leader in fashion technology, Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics 2026 will return from 9 – 11 June with a strong focus on textile innovation. The event aims to support exhibitors in tapping into Shenzhen’s dynamic garment industry and the broader Greater Bay Area (GBA), where artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into areas such as quality inspection, design processes, data management, and digital trade.

Building on the technological advancements seen in previous editions, the 2026 fair will introduce new features including the Innovation Studio showcase and the Future Horizons forum, both designed to highlight cutting-edge developments in textiles.

Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, noted that the event’s evolving focus reflects Shenzhen’s unique role as both a fashion and innovation hub. With cities across the GBA investing heavily in AI and advanced technologies for apparel manufacturing, the updated theme and new initiatives aim to provide exhibitors with enhanced opportunities to connect with targeted buyers from China and international markets. This direction also aligns with Messe Frankfurt’s global ‘Texpertise Focus AI’ initiative.

Efforts are underway to incorporate AI technologies across Messe Frankfurt’s global portfolio of textile fairs, and Intertextile Shenzhen is expected to play a key role in this transformation. Shenzhen’s ongoing development, particularly in the Futian CBD, continues to position the city as a major fashion centre within the GBA. Nearby hubs like Humen in Dongguan are also leveraging AI to boost digitalisation, sustainability, and global competitiveness in garment production.

Strategically located in Futian and well connected to key textile centres such as Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, the fair is ideally placed to attract both regional and international visitors. Additionally, expanded visa-free policies for multiple countries and regions are expected to further support global participation.

The Innovation Studio will serve as an extension of last year’s “The Closet” concept, offering a platform for advanced materials, textile solutions, and forward-thinking designs. Meanwhile, the Future Horizons forum will provide insights into emerging trends and innovations shaping the industry, alongside a comprehensive fringe programme covering design, technology, business strategies, and sustainability.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of products, including fibres, yarns, fabrics, garments, and accessories across categories such as womenswear, casualwear, denim, suiting, functional apparel, sportswear, swimwear, and lingerie. Innovation will be the central theme connecting all segments.

Industry participants have already recognised the fair’s value. Representatives from AI-focused organisations highlighted strong interest in solutions that enhance efficiency in design and testing processes, while also noting successful networking with manufacturers and designers.

Overall, Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics continues to serve as a key platform for presenting new trends, innovative solutions, and evolving business models. Through exhibitions, forums, and case studies, it enables industry stakeholders to explore and adopt advanced technologies shaping the future of textiles.

The event will be held alongside Yarn Expo Shenzhen and PH Value, and is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Messe Frankfurt (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Center.
