Vipul Organics Limited, a leading Indian player in pigments and dyes, has announced that its membrane division, AdiMem Technologies, has officially started commercial sales of membranes. This marks a significant milestone shortly after its successful showcase at IFAT India 2025.
Moving from pilot operations to full-scale production, the company is set to introduce Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane manufacturing at its Sayakha facility in Gujarat. This facility utilizes proprietary Reverse Phase Transition technology to produce high-performance membranes domestically, making AdiMem the first fully indigenous membrane manufacturer in India.
AdiMem now offers membranes along with complete solutions, including Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and pre-treatment systems, catering to industries such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The Sayakha unit integrates manufacturing, rolling, quality control, and advanced testing infrastructure, ensuring consistent performance and scalable solutions for water and wastewater treatment.
According to insights from IMARC Group, India’s membrane separation technology market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.52%, increasing from USD 1.34 billion in 2026 to USD 2.7 billion by 2033. This growth is driven by initiatives like Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), the Namami Gange Programme, and increasing demand for industrial water recycling. Reports from ChemAnalyst further indicate rising demand for RO, UF, and NF membranes, particularly in pharmaceutical effluent treatment.
The company expects membrane solutions to significantly enhance its revenue and margins, targeting 25% of its topline from this segment within the next three years. Additionally, Vipul Organics aims to capture a meaningful share of India’s filtration market, projected to reach USD 6.33 billion by 2033.
AdiMem’s product portfolio includes MF, UF, NF, and RO membranes, along with tubular and hollow fibre configurations and membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems. As India’s first fully indigenous offering in this category, it emphasizes performance, durability, and sustainability.
Vipul Organics continues to prioritize sustainability, with 98% effluent recycling, ZDHC Level 3 certification, and ISO 14001 compliance. Its membranes are designed to enable up to 90% water recovery across applications.
“We are happy to announce that commercial sales of AdiMem products and solutions have now begun. Our Sayakha expansion will scale up our high-performance membranes and full solutions, reinforcing India’s sustainability drive,” says Mr. Vipul P. Shah, Managing Director, Vipul Organics Limited. “From pigments (10,000 TPA expansion) to membranes, this strategic move reduces import reliance on China-dominant supply chains and opens access to the global USD 350 billion market.”
Supported by a Rights Issue to accelerate the Sayakha expansion, the company anticipates strong growth by FY2027, driven by an estimated 12–15% annual increase in chemical membrane demand. Industry analysts also point to improved margin potential compared to peers in the specialty chemicals sector.
