Turkmenistan is set to strengthen its textile manufacturing capabilities with the launch of a new production facility at the Dashoguz Cotton-Spinning Plant, aimed at processing textile industry waste into value-added products. The initiative is expected to enhance domestic manufacturing, reduce imports, expand exports, and create new employment opportunities.
The announcement was made during an online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev outlined ongoing efforts to establish new production lines within the country’s textile sector. The proposed facility will focus on utilizing cotton and textile waste, supporting Turkmenistan’s broader strategy of improving resource efficiency and increasing industrial output.
According to the government, the new production line is designed to manufacture a range of import-substituting products while strengthening the country’s export potential. By converting textile waste into commercially valuable goods, the project also aligns with sustainable manufacturing practices and circular economy principles.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposal during the cabinet meeting, emphasizing that Turkmenistan continues to modernize its textile industry through advanced manufacturing facilities capable of producing high-quality products for domestic and international markets.
The President instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue implementing measures that support the textile sector’s expansion and improve production efficiency across the industry.
The new production facility is expected to contribute significantly to Turkmenistan’s industrial development by promoting efficient utilization of raw materials, increasing competitiveness in textile manufacturing, and generating additional employment in the Dashoguz region.
The Cabinet meeting also reviewed several other state development initiatives, with corresponding decisions adopted to support the country’s ongoing economic and industrial growth.
