Arboreal Bioinnovations Private Limited, India’s first specialty food and nutraceutical ingredients technology company, has secured ₹230 crore in a Series A funding round, marking one of the largest Series A investments in India’s specialty food ingredients sector. The round was co-led by EAAA Alternatives, the alternatives arm of Edelweiss, and Omnivore, with continued participation from existing investor Rainmatter by Zerodha.
The fresh capital will be used to expand Arboreal’s manufacturing capacity, strengthen its research and development capabilities, and accelerate the commercialization of its next-generation functional ingredients designed for the food, beverage, and nutraceutical industries.
Arboreal has built a differentiated “contextual innovation” model that develops ingredient solutions tailored to the nutritional, functional, sensory, and commercial needs of Indian consumers and brands. The company’s technology platform integrates ingredient engineering, formulation science, process R&D, and precision manufacturing to create innovative specialty ingredients.
Its portfolio includes proprietary solutions across next-generation proteins, cocoa-based ingredients, natural zero-calorie sweeteners, functional fibres, and several new ingredient platforms currently under development.
Driven by increasing demand for healthier food solutions, Arboreal has more than doubled its business growth year-on-year. During the last 18 months, its ingredient-first innovation approach has supported over 300 product launches across more than 1,100 food, beverage, and nutraceutical brands in India.
Commenting on the funding, Swati Pandey, Co-Founder and CEO of Arboreal Bioinnovations, said the investment validates the company’s vision of building science-led ingredient solutions that address global nutrition challenges while creating innovations originating from India.

He noted that the capital will accelerate investments in research, manufacturing, talent, and intellectual property while enabling the company to develop differentiated ingredients for leading food and nutraceutical brands.
From the investor perspective, Ashish Agarwal, Managing Director, Private Equity at EAAA Alternatives, highlighted Arboreal’s potential to emerge as a category leader in next-generation ingredient technologies, particularly in yeast protein innovation.
