Pratteln, Switzerland, July 14, 2025 – Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals, has launched CYCLANON® XC-W e, an innovative washing-off auxiliary designed to enhance productivity and reduce resource use in cellulosic reactive dyeing processes. It ensures excellent color fastness performance, even under high-electrolyte or hard water conditions.
“With CYCLANON® XC-W e, we are building on our proven trio-polymer platform to give mills a way to meet rising brand expectations for durable, high-quality casual wear with a lower environmental footprint – all at a cost profile comparable to conventional washing-off agents,” said Dhirendra Gautam, VP Global Marketing and Strategy, Archroma.
Conventional polyacrylate or copolymer washing-off agents often fail to fully remove unfixed dye from fabric, especially when salt concentrations are high or water hardness is an issue. This leads to excessive rinsing, multiple washing baths, and poor-quality outcomes such as backstaining or shade inconsistency.
CYCLANON® XC-W e’s unique trio-polymer chemistry overcomes these limitations, enabling higher performance, greater efficiency, and resource savings without significant cost increase compared to conventional products.
Exceptional Wet-Fastness and Resource Savings
The new auxiliary reduces the substantivity of unfixed dyes, enhancing removal and decreasing backstaining, while improving fastness even with deep shades. This allows mills to simplify processes and cut down on rinsing and washing baths, resulting in:
- Up to 15% shorter processing time
- Up to 20% water savings during washing-off
- Up to 20% CO₂ reduction through lower energy use
- Up to 20% less chemical consumption
Productivity Benefits
By optimizing washing-off cycles and minimizing rework, CYCLANON® XC-W e boosts throughput. A typical knit plant producing 10 metric tons of fabric per day could boost output by 1 MT per day simply by eliminating two washing baths and reducing rejections.
Part of Archroma’s SUPER SYSTEMS+ Portfolio
CYCLANON® XC-W e is integrated into the SUPER SYSTEMS+ portfolio and works synergistically with Blue Magic pretreatment and NOVACRON® EC/S dyes for full-cycle optimization of 100% cotton dyeing. It’s classified as an IMPACT+ solution within the SUPER SYSTEMS+ Impact Matrix, representing best-in-class performance in resource savings, fastness, and regulatory compliance.
The product also meets stringent MRSL and RSL standards, with bluesign®, ZDHC Level 3, and GOTS 7.0 certifications currently in progress.
