Archroma, a global frontrunner in specialty chemicals, has been honored with two prestigious accolades at the 2025 Just Style Excellence Awards, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the textile and apparel industry.
The company received the Innovation Excellence Award for its pioneering PHOBOTEX® NTR-50, a bio-based, PFAS-free, and formaldehyde-free durable water repellent (DWR). This product stands out with 50% renewable carbon content, verified by ASTM D6866 standards. It delivers exceptional water resistance across various fabric types while maintaining softness and comfort—ideal for outdoor gear, sportswear, and home textiles. Notably, its high process reliability and safety at elevated temperatures ensure smoother large-scale manufacturing with minimal issues like yellowing or buildup. Its versatility also allows it to be combined with other treatments for added durability against washing and dry cleaning.
Archroma also secured the Environmental Excellence Award for its groundbreaking Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system at its Mahachai facility in Thailand. This initiative enables the plant to reclaim 90–95% of its wastewater. In collaboration with water treatment leader Gradiant, Archroma’s process turns wastewater into reusable clean water and extracts concentrated brine, which is repurposed by partners in processes like chlorine production. This innovation significantly reduces freshwater usage and establishes a scalable model for sustainable dye production in line with circular economy goals.
These awards underscore Archroma’s proactive role in transforming the fashion and textile sectors by merging ecological responsibility with performance-driven solutions. The company remains dedicated to advancing sustainability through technology and collaboration, creating long-term value for the entire supply chain.
