Archroma, a global leader in specialty chemicals for sustainable textile solutions, will present groundbreaking innovations that combine high performance with environmental responsibility at PERFORMANCE DAYS 2025 in Munich this month.
At the event, Archroma’s specialists will showcase new-generation dyes and finishes that prove brands no longer have to choose between performance and sustainability. These innovations target sportswear, athleisure, and workwear applications — where durability, comfort, and eco-conscious design are equally vital.
“It is no longer true that you need to sacrifice high performance for sustainability,” said Dhirendra Gautam, Vice President, Commercial, Archroma. “Whether it’s colors that stay vibrant wash after wash, or softness that lasts without sacrificing absorbency, we’re showing that brands can deliver the performance consumers demand while advancing their environmental commitments. This is especially critical for functional fabrics where performance is non-negotiable.”
HIGH IQ® LASTINGCOLOR PRO: Durability Meets Sustainability
At Performance Days, Archroma will spotlight its HIGH IQ® LASTINGCOLOR PRO series — including LASTINGCOLOR PRO and LASTINGBLACK PRO — reinforcing its dedication to “colors that perform without compromise.”
The HIGH IQ® performance assurance program ensures fabrics stay vibrant and new-looking even after repeated washes, with bright colors maintaining intensity and dark shades staying deep. Powered by AVITERA® SE reactive dyes, the technology reduces water and energy consumption by up to 50%, supporting mills and brands in cutting their environmental footprint.
For functional fabrics such as high-visibility workwear and activewear, the series delivers long-lasting color performance — retaining vibrancy through up to 50 washes — while complying with the textile industry’s stringent environmental regulations.
SILIGEN® D2W LIQ C: Solving the Softness-Absorbency Compromise
Archroma will also unveil SILIGEN® D2W LIQ C, the industry’s first durable silicone softener for cellulosic and cotton-lycra blended knits, maintaining luxurious softness and natural absorbency even after extended use.
Historically, manufacturers faced a trade-off between durability and absorbency. Archroma’s patent-pending micro-x chemistry eliminates this issue by forming a cross-linkable microemulsion, locking in softness within fibers while preserving moisture-wicking properties.
This breakthrough also introduces the first objective handfeel measurement system, allowing brands to quantify and communicate softness durability with unmatched transparency.
Complete Portfolio for Functional Performance
Archroma’s showcase will also feature:
- PHOBOTEX® NTR-50 liq – a bio-based, non-PFAS, non-formaldehyde durable water repellent containing 50% renewable carbon (ASTM D6866). It provides excellent water repellence and a soft, comfortable handle, ideal for sportswear and outdoor apparel.
- EarthColors® technology – creating biobased dyes from agricultural waste, including nutshells and cotton plant residues.
- AVITERA® GENERATION NEXT – the latest expansion of the AVITERA® platform, offering economical sustainability for dark shades like black, navy, and red.
