Asahi Kasei’s Microza® Earns Gold in EcoVadis Rating

Asahi Kasei’s Microza® & Water Processing Division, specializing in hollow-fiber membrane technologies for filtration and separation, has earned a Gold rating in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment conducted in June 2025. The accolade positions the division among the top 5% of assessed companies globally.

Microza® membranes are extensively used for water treatment (e.g., purification and reuse) and industrial processes, including applications in biopharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, and more. The division was evaluated across four pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, with particularly strong performance in environmental initiatives at its Fuji Plant and throughout its supply chain.

EcoVadis, a France-based global sustainability ratings firm, assesses over 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries, and is widely regarded as a key benchmark for evaluating corporate sustainability.

Satoshi Kobayashi, Senior GM of the Microza & Water Processing Division, remarked:

“Receiving this Gold rating is a significant milestone for our business and reinforces our commitment to supporting society through membrane and separation technologies. By strengthening technological innovation and global collaboration, we will continue to provide solutions that conserve water resources while creating new value for a more sustainable society.”

Asahi Kasei continues to advance its sustainability agenda across all operations, with transparent reporting through annual disclosures.
