With its high-end selection of institutional linen, BKS Fabrics has cemented its standing as a leading brand in the home textiles industry. With its inventive and varied product offers, the firm, which is a member of the well-known BKS Textiles group located in Tirupur, is set to make a big impression at the upcoming Heimtextil 2025 trade exhibition.
BKS Fabrics’ managing director, Sangeetha Velkrishna, discussed the company’s remarkable history in an exclusive interview. “With decades of experience and a dedication to innovation, sustainability, and excellence, BKS Fabrics has been a trailblazer in the home textile industry,” she said.
She went on to discuss the company’s history and mission, saying, “As you are aware, we are a part of the BKS Textiles group, which was founded in 1983. We are entering the institutional goods market with BKS Fabrics, which includes hospitality linen and workplace clothing. “Weaving Excellence and Delivering Trust” is our tagline. As the name implies, we use trust to assist our clients. Building enduring connections with our clients is our goal.
Innovation on Display at Heimtextil 2025
Sangeetha provided information on the company’s product portfolio before delving into their involvement in Heimtextil 2025. We are launching our upscale blanket and bath linen lines for Heimtextil. Additionally, we are exhibiting our latest line of medical textiles, which includes doctor coats, medical scrubs and lint-free blankets. Bed linens with wellness and hygiene features, such as those with vitamin E, aromatherapy, antibacterial, and hypoallergenic properties, would also be a key area, she added.
She emphasised the company’s focus on innovation when asked what makes their products unique in the marketplace. “We have a reputation for innovation. It is the core of our business. We collaborate closely with our global clients and have a specialised design and development staff. We take pride in growing along with our customers, developing products tailored to their specific needs,” she explained.
Fundamentally, sustainability
Speaking about the company’s sustainability efforts, Sangeetha went into detail about their environmentally friendly sourcing and production procedures. Finding sustainable raw resources is only one aspect of sustainability. Since the majority of our raw materials come from neighbouring areas, we prioritise local sourcing to lessen our carbon footprint. About 60% of the energy used in manufacturing originates from renewable sources. By 2030, we want to raise this to 100%’, she said.
She further added, “When it comes to sustainability, we emphasize upcycling rather than recycling—reducing and reusing manufacturing waste to create different products.”
Sangeetha said, “People often say sustainability comes at a cost, but for me, it’s not that,” in reference to striking a balance between sustainability, quality, and affordability. Sustainability entails reducing carbon emissions, waste production, and resource use, which eventually lowers product costs without sacrificing quality.
Increasing worldwide reach
When speaking about the company’s foreign markets, Sangeetha noted, “At the moment, the US, UK, and Europe are our main worldwide markets. We expect additional business in the UK and Europe as a result of the impending free trade agreements. Additionally, we are now focusing on South America and African markets.”
Changing to reflect market trends
“Consumers are becoming more eco-conscious, demanding healthier, smarter, and more responsible textiles,” she said in response to a question on trends influencing the global home textile sector. The industry has changed as a result. To address these changing demands, we have responded by launching performance textiles, multipurpose textiles, and smart textiles.
An advantage over competitors
Sangeetha also discussed the competitive advantages of the business. “We have a significant advantage thanks to our custom solutions made to meet the unique requirements of every customer. Additionally, we cater to diverse consumer demands, maintain transparency in our supply chain, and embrace digital transformation through end-to-end ERP solutions,” she stated.
Heimtextil’s strategic significance
Sangeetha concluded by stressing the strategic importance of taking part in Heimtextil 2025. “Heimtextil is a global networking platform.” It enables us to communicate with both current and potential clients while providing information about upcoming developments and trends. Since it is early in the year, it aids in our strategic planning and forecasting for the remainder of the year. It’s also a fantastic way to see what foreign rivals are providing, which makes it a tremendous chance for business expansion,” she added.
“We take pleasure in welcoming visitors to our booth and look forward to interacting with a cross-section of visitors from around the world at the exhibition,” she said enthusiastically as she wrapped up. We are located in Hall No. 8, Stall No. G 57.
