Coats Group plc, a global leader in thread manufacturing and structural components for apparel and footwear, has announced a strategic collaboration with DMIx, the advanced digital platform developed by ColorDigital GmbH. The partnership marks a major step in Coats’ digital transformation roadmap.
The alliance will allow Coats to integrate spectral-based digital colour systems, 3D asset management, and digital twin technologies, enabling faster product development, improved colour consistency, and stronger collaboration across its global value chain. These improvements also align with Coats’ sustainability goals, as they reduce the need for physical sampling and cut down on material waste.
This initiative builds a unified digital environment for Coats’ design, development, and manufacturing teams, allowing seamless interactions with partners and customers.
“Partnering with DMIx is an important step in our journey to modernise and digitise how we work across the value chain,” said Adrian Elliott, Divisional CEO, Apparel and Chief Commercial Officer. “This collaboration supports our ambition to deliver greater speed, accuracy, and sustainability in product development – while enabling stronger connections between our teams, partners, and customers.”
“We’re excited to welcome Coats to the DMIx platform. Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for digital collaboration in the textile industry, one that’s built on precision, transparency, and sustainability,” said Gerd Willschütz, COO and co-founder of DMIx.
