The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPISTM), Coimbatore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shree Renga Polyester Pvt. Ltd., a Karur-based company, to collaborate on joint research, industrial training, student projects, and innovations in sustainable textile development.
Shree Renga Polyester Pvt. Ltd. is a pioneer in PET bottle recycling and sustainable textile manufacturing. The MoU was formalized between K. Sankar, Chairman of Shree Renga Polyester Pvt. Ltd., and P. Alli Rani, Director of SVPISTM, according to an official release from the company.
Senthil Sankar, Managing Director of Shree Renga Polyester, said the company recycles over 1.5 million PET bottles every day, converting them into value-added products while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainable practices and biodegradable textile innovations.
P. Alli Rani emphasized that the collaboration represents a significant step toward integrating academic expertise with industrial sustainability, thereby promoting a greener and more responsible textile future.
