A Dubai-based manufacturing company has become the first in the Middle East to create a diverse line of sportswear using plant-based and technical fabrics, offering athletes a “smarter investment” for training in extreme climates with global-level performance.
These innovative fabrics, part of the Neotech collection, were introduced by Dubai-born premium gym wear brand Squatwolf.
In an interview with Gulf Today, Anam Khalid, co-founder of Squatwolf, explained:
“We’ve taken what’s best from nature and fused it with advanced sports science to design superior workout clothing. Fabrics in the Neotech range are made from plant-based fibers instead of only synthetic materials, making them softer, more breathable, and eco-friendly. We then enhanced them with performance technologies — quick-drying, temperature regulation, and stretch — so they can withstand intense workouts, heat, and movement.”
She emphasized that while high-performance fabrics are not new globally, the uniqueness of Neotech lies in its Middle Eastern origin and its foundation in natural, plant-based fibers like Sorona and viscose. Unlike most global brands that rely heavily on petroleum-based synthetics, Squatwolf demonstrates that high-performance gear can also integrate sustainable, nature-inspired, and sensory fabrics.
She further noted that materials like Sorona, spacer knit, and Actdry are sourced through specialized international textile supply chains, while design remains rooted in Dubai, reflecting Squatwolf’s identity as a Dubai-born brand.
On pricing, Khalid clarified that Neotech is not competing on affordability but is positioned on performance, innovation, and longevity.
