EDANA & INDA Urge Trade Unity in Nonwovens Industry

Brussels & Cary, April 14, 2025 – EDANA and INDA, the leading voices for the nonwovens industry in Europe and North America, are calling for global collaboration in response to increasing trade tensions.

Both associations warn that a cycle of retaliatory tariffs could disrupt supply chains and harm the global nonwovens sector, which plays a vital role in hygiene, healthcare, and manufacturing.

“We support addressing unfair practices,” said Murat Dogru, General Manager of EDANA, “but escalating tariffs create uncertainty and hurt both industries and consumers.”

INDA President & CEO Tony Fragnito added, “Fair trade is essential, but so is maintaining open dialogue. Policymakers must consider the broader economic impacts of trade restrictions.”

With companies operating across borders, EDANA and INDA emphasize the importance of maintaining open trade between the U.S. and EU. They advocate for solutions that keep manufacturers competitive and ensure supply chain stability.

The associations reaffirm their commitment to policies that promote collaboration, free trade, and long-term industry growth.
