Fibre Extrusion Technology Ltd (FET), based in Leeds, UK, successfully concluded its 2025 exhibition schedule at COMPAMED 2025 in Düsseldorf. This appearance followed shortly after the company’s participation at ITMA ASIA in Singapore, highlighting a strong year of global industry engagement.
Notably, this marked FET’s second participation at COMPAMED, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for medical technology suppliers. This repeat presence reflects the company’s expanding footprint in the medical sector. Currently, more than 50% of FET’s total turnover comes from the fast-growing medical market.
Strong Alignment with the Medical Technology Sector
COMPAMED focuses on suppliers of high-quality medical technology components, production equipment, and related services. Therefore, FET’s growing involvement in medical applications aligns naturally with the exhibition’s core audience.
As a result, the platform allowed FET to engage with global stakeholders across the medical device value chain.
Launch of FET-500 Gel Spinning Technology
During the exhibition, FET introduced its latest breakthrough innovation, the FET-500 Gel Spinning System. The system supports Ultra High Molecular Weight polymers (UHMWPE) and delivers substantial advantages in cost efficiency, reduced footprint, and environmental performance.
Importantly, the FET-500 offers high flexibility while maintaining critical process consistency. This capability enables manufacturers to validate concepts and secure medical device intellectual property. Moreover, the technology eliminates the need for harsh processing chemicals traditionally used in gel spinning.
FET’s patent-pending process technology makes the system compact and significantly more environmentally friendly than conventional industrial alternatives.
Global Exhibition Plans for 2026
Looking ahead, FET plans to continue its global outreach in 2026 through participation in two major international exhibitions. The company will first exhibit at Techtextil Frankfurt in April 2026. Subsequently, it will return to COMPAMED Düsseldorf in November 2026.
Through these platforms, FET aims to strengthen its position as a key technology partner for the global medical and technical textiles industries.
