Renouvo uses green energy to reduce their carbon footprint by turning agricultural waste, such as coffee grinds and sugarcane bagasse, into biodegradable straws and cutlery. Since 80% of their sales are exported to Europe, Green Tech Accelerator assisted the team in expanding their “negative carbon” idea and gaining access to the Middle Eastern market. In the food business, they intend to replace plastic bags with waterproof sugarcane bags.
