INDA Educates Legislators on Nonwovens at NCSL 2025

INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, participated in the 2025 NCSL Legislative Summit held in Boston, Massachusetts. Representing INDA, Wes Fisher, Director of Government Affairs, and Kevin Conroy, Senior Manager of Government Affairs, engaged with hundreds of state legislators, their staff, international delegates, and other attendees who visited INDA’s booth during the multi-thousand–participant event.

The focus of discussions centered on flushability, the California Collection Study, the federal WIPPES Act, wipes-related state legislation, and broader insights into the nonwovens industry. Through hands-on demonstrations and educational conversations, INDA provided policymakers with a better understanding of how nonwoven products are developed, applied, and regulated, while stressing the importance of accurate wipes labeling for consumer awareness and environmental responsibility.

“Having a booth at the 2025 NCSL Legislative Summit allowed us to engage directly with state legislators, policy stakeholders, and many of the thousands of attendees on wipes labeling, the WIPPES Act, and other key issues shaping the nonwovens industry today,” said Wes Fisher. “The meaningful conversations and hands-on product demonstrations showcased the essential role nonwoven fabrics play in everyday life, from consumer households to critical industrial applications.”

This marks INDA’s second recent participation at the Summit, which remains one of the largest gatherings of state legislators, staff, corporations, agencies, and trade associations in the U.S., widely covered by state and national media outlets.
