Indorama Ventures Introduces Textile-Recycled Trevira® CS Fibers for Flame-Retardant Fabrics

Jesper Nielsen, Global Key Account Manager Flame Retardancy

Indorama Ventures has introduced Trevira® permanently flame-retardant fibres and filament yarns containing 50% recycled textile material, supporting the development of more circular textiles for home and public space applications.

The new fibres are produced using recycled polyester chips supplied through Indorama Ventures’ joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling. The recycling process uses textile waste from both consumer and industrial sources. These chips are then converted into high-modified Trevira® flame-retardant fibres and yarns, enabling fabric manufacturers to create Trevira® CS Eco fabrics while retaining permanent flame-retardant performance.

Jesper Nielsen, Global Key Account Manager Flame Retardancy at Indorama Ventures, stated that the development allows customers to combine circular material use with the long-established safety performance of Trevira CS, which has been in use since 1980.

The textile-recycled Trevira® flame-retardant fibres and yarns were presented to customers during the Heimtextil trade fair held in mid-January 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany. Fabrics produced using these fibres are eligible to apply for the Trevira CS Eco label.

The initiative follows Indorama Ventures’ announcement of its partnership with Jiaren Chemical Recycling in November 2025, aimed at advancing textile circularity at scale.
