Itema Opens New Service Centre in Surat to Support Growing Demand

Itema has expanded its footprint in India with the launch of a new Service Centre in Surat on November 26. The inauguration event brought together customers and partners from across the region.
The company has been active in India since 2002, operating through a fully established branch with over 50 employees. Its India operations handle sales, after-sales support, technical assistance, and advanced repair services. This long-standing presence has helped Itema deliver consistent service standards to its customers in the country.


In recent years, Itema has reported strong growth in the Indian market, with a significant share coming from Surat. The region has become one of the company’s strongest zones, particularly due to high demand for its high-end rapier weaving technology. Surat weavers, known for producing intricate sarees and women’s apparel fabrics, prefer Itema’s machines for their versatility and production quality.


According to Sameer Kulkarni, Managing Director of Itema Weaving India, the company has seen “unprecedented growth” in Surat since 2021, with a large number of machines installed across local textile mills.


The newly opened Surat Service Centre further strengthens Itema’s support infrastructure in this key textile hub. The facility includes a spare parts hub and a dedicated electronic repair centre, enhancing the company’s existing customer care and sales network in the region.
