ITTA Signs Landmark MOU with Maharashtra Govt. to boost Technical Textile

The Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Governor of the State of Maharashtra exercising executive powers of the Government of Maharashtra through the Secretary of the Textiles Department, Government of Maharashtra at ‘Bharat Tex Expo 2025’ on 15th February 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. 

The MOU was signed by Shri Avinash Misar, Chairman of ITTA, and Minister of Textile Industry Shri Sanjay Savkare, Honorable Minister (Textile), in presence of Shri Shrikrishna Pawar, Deputy Secretary (Textiles), Govt of Maharashtra, Secretary of Textile Industry Department of the state Mr. Virender Singh, Commissioner of Textile Industry Sanjay Dene, Director of Silk Directorate and Dr. Vinay Moon present on stage.

ITTA shall support the Department as a Knowledge Partner for the proposed Maharashtra Technical Textiles Mission (MTTM), by developing a broader strategy which would include different categories such as R&D, Market Development, Investment, Start-Ups, Skill Development, etc.

ITTA’s Support for Maharashtra Technical Textiles Mission (MTTM)

  1. Knowledge Partner: ITTA will help develop a strategy for MTTM, covering R&D, market development, investment, startups, and skill development.
  2. R&D Support: ITTA will assist in reviewing and evaluating R&D project proposals for funding.
  3. Promoting TT Parks: ITTA will reach out to companies to promote Technical Textile Parks and encourage investments in Maharashtra.
  4. Executive Training Programs: Organize training for senior and middle management in the Technical Textile industry.
  5. Support Staff Training: Conduct specialized training for staff in testing, inspection, and quality assurance across 12 technical textile sectors.
  6. Advanced Training Center: Set up a center to implement training programs for industry professionals
  7. Short Courses: Offer courses for students, faculty, professionals, and entrepreneurs in technical textiles.
  8. Growth Strategy: Develop a long-term roadmap to boost the technical textiles sector in Maharashtra.
  9. Other Activities: Take up additional initiatives of mutual interest as needed.

The Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA) will closely collaborate with the Maharashtra State Department to create a strategic roadmap for the long-term growth of technical textiles in Maharashtra.
