Swiss sustainable materials company OceanSafe has partnered with TENCEL™ to develop naNea, a cutting-edge biodegradable polyester created to combat the environmental impact of traditional synthetic fibers.
Engineered to biodegrade over 93% in marine conditions within 99 days, naNea leaves no microplastics or toxic residues behind, offering a clean, ocean-friendly alternative. It is certified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold, underscoring its high standards for circularity, safety, and sustainability.
Designed for easy integration into existing manufacturing systems, naNea can be recycled with standard polyester and is suitable for applications like activewear, outerwear, and home textiles. It can be processed using conventional equipment, ensuring broad adoption potential across the industry.
