Petri Alava Joins Haelixa Board to Strengthen Supply Chain Traceability

Haelixa has announced that Petri Alava has joined its Board of Directors. The announcement was made on 4 March 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland. Alava is widely known for founding and leading Infinited Fiber Company, where he guided the company through a decade of development towards industrial-scale operations.

During his ten-year leadership journey, Alava transformed the company’s textile-to-textile recycling innovation into a globally recognised material technology platform. Under his direction, the company secured over €100 million in strategic investments from major global brands such as H&M Group, Inditex, Adidas and Zalando. It also established long-term commercial offtake agreements valued at more than €200 million with companies including Patagonia and PVH.

Alava’s appointment comes shortly after Haelixa successfully raised €2 million in funding and continues to expand its presence internationally across sectors such as textiles, luxury goods and other high-value materials. His experience in scaling innovative technologies is expected to support the company’s next phase of global expansion.

Industries today are dealing with increasing regulatory requirements, cost pressures and geopolitical uncertainties. As concerns around product origin, authenticity and sustainability claims grow, reliable verification systems are becoming increasingly important for managing supply chain risks and ensuring transparency.

Haelixa addresses these challenges by embedding invisible forensic DNA markers directly into materials. This technology allows brands to verify products at the item level, strengthening supply chain due diligence and supporting authentication processes, particularly within the luxury market.

The company has also recently introduced its DNA-based Authenticity Service, designed to enable quick product verification across resale, repair and distribution channels. This service responds to the rising demand for authentication as counterfeit risks continue to pose operational and reputational challenges for brands.

“Global supply chains are built on documents and declarations. These systems are increasingly unreliable. Haelixa embeds proof into the product itself, creating a scalable trust layer that works across industries. That’s what makes it powerful. Not just for one sector, but as infrastructure for global supply chain trust.”

Patrick Strumpf said the appointment reflects the company’s next stage of growth.

“We’ve built deep scientific and regulatory expertise. Petri brings experience in turning breakthrough innovation into industrial adoption. That combination matters as traceability becomes foundational rather than optional.”
