On June 29, 2025, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth visited the Defence Materials and Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), a DRDO laboratory located in Kanpur. During his address to the DRDO community, he praised the successful deployment of indigenous technologies developed by DRDO during Operation Sindoor.
He also commended DMSRDE’s pivotal role in developing advanced defence systems and products, such as the Level-6 Bullet Proof Jacket, Naphthyl Fuel for the BrahMos Missile, High Pressure Polymeric Membranes for Indian Coast Guard ships, Silicon Carbide Fibre, Activated Carbon Fabric-based CBRN suits, and various stealth technologies. Highlighting the lab’s innovation leadership, he lauded DMSRDE for achieving the highest number of technology transfers among DRDO labs over the past two years. He emphasized how their collaboration with industry and academia aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Shri Sanjay Seth toured an exhibition showcasing the lab’s innovations in ceramics, ceramic matrix composites, stealth and camouflage materials, nano-materials, coatings, polymers, fuels, technical textiles, and personal protection systems. He was welcomed by Dr. RV Hara Prasad, DS & DG (Naval Systems & Materials).
Following the technology demonstration, the Director of DMSRDE presented an overview of the lab’s mission, vision, ongoing projects, and core research domains. The visit concluded with Shri Sanjay Seth paying tribute to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at his statue within the campus and participating in a tree plantation initiative.
