ReCircle, a leading waste recovery innovator, is back with Mumbai’s largest Diwali Waste Collection Drive, marking its fifth consecutive year. Since its inception in 2021 with 3,100 kg of waste collected, the initiative has grown year on year. By 2024, the drive recovered over 45,000 kg of dry waste in a single season, and cumulatively over four years, it has diverted more than 75,000 kg of dry waste away from landfills. This year’s campaign is set to be bigger and more community-driven, strengthening the city’s commitment to sustainability.
Driven by the spirit of collective action, the drive has engaged households, housing societies, schools, corporates, and local champions across Mumbai. Each year has demonstrated how Mumbaikars come together during Diwali not just to celebrate but to contribute to a cleaner, greener city. This year, ReCircle aims to expand participation further, inspiring citizens to embrace a circular economy.
Proceeds from the recovered waste will be donated to St. Catherine of Siena School & Orphanage, supporting essential needs for children.

Rahul Nainani, CEO & Co-Founder of ReCircle, said:
“Diwali is a festival of lights, but the waste it generates often dims its glow. Our aim is to transform ‘Diwali ki Safai’ into a sustainable movement — one that resonates across homes, societies, and streets. Every contribution matters, turning waste into resources that power livelihoods and support children in need. This year, we invite every Mumbaikar to be part of this movement, lighting lives far beyond their own.”
With this drive, ReCircle continues its mission to transform waste into resources, raise awareness, and enable collective action toward a sustainable future.
