It is now possible to register with a Frühbucher-Rabatt, reserve exhibition spaces and workshops, and submit abstracts and innovations for the “Renewable Material of the Year 2025” award. The first high-level winner is already set.
Within a few years, the Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) has emerged as a global hub for innovators, companies and brands, investors, and political decision-makers to develop and design the future, renewable kohlenstoff economy. The Nova Institute, a conference organiser, anticipates 400–500 participants from around the world in the upcoming year.
The extraction of fossil fuels from the earth and their use in the energy and chemical industries are responsible for 90% of greenhouse gas emissions, primarily from human activity. While decarbonisation is the preferred method in the energy sector, the only alternative for the chemical and plastics industries is to convert fossil fuels into renewable energy sources through the use of biomass, CO₂, and recycling.
The RMC 2025 will provide answers to difficult questions posed by investors, suppliers, and political decision-makers: How can the chemical industry be defossilized while maintaining its competitiveness? How might the need for fossil fuel-free plastics be addressed? How can a sustainable Kohlenstoff cycle be established? Welche Rolle wird die biologische Abbaubarkeit in der Kreislaufwirtschaft spielen?
In order to address these questions, the conference offers a wide range of expert discussions and exceptional networking opportunities, such as workshops on the most challenging topics, exhibitions, and poster sessions. Additionally, the opportunity to vote for the Covestro (DE)-sponsored Innovations Prize “Renewable Material of the Year 2025” will be available once again.
An overview of the conference topics for September 22: Defossilization of the chemical industry: Alternatives like naphtha, bioraffinerien, abfallverwertung, chemisches recycling, and kohlenstoffabscheidung und -verwertung (CCU) are all included in this significant topic area, along with solutions for both basic and fine chemicals.
September 23: Fossil-Free Plastic: Since there are now over 20 commercially available polymers from biomass, CO₂, and chemical recycling, this topic area offers solutions for all application areas.
September 24: Concepts and Strategies for Sustainable Kohlenstoff Cycles and the Function of Biological Abbaus in the Kreislauf Economy: Which legislative framework or market research is required for the transition to renewable energy and sustainable energy cycles? What are the most recent political, technological, and emerging trends in the field of biological abbaus?
The first highly qualified speakers are already in place.
Andreas Künkel, BASF (DE): Biodegradability as a Circular Economy End-of-Life Choice: Benefits and the Way Ahead How the Chemical Industry Can Help Create Sustainable Carbon Cycles, says Florie Gonsolin, CEFIC (BE)
