Slack & Parr Showcases Gear Pumps at ITMA Asia 2025

Slack & Parr, a global leader in precision gear metering technology and member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), is set to present its latest innovations at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025. The company will showcase an enhanced line of large-capacity gear pumps specifically engineered for heavy denier, industrial yarn, and nonwoven applications.

Renowned for delivering consistent and uniform polymer processing across the manmade fibre industry, Slack & Parr’s high-accuracy pumps are integral to the production of high-performance yarns and textiles such as acrylic, polyester, nylon, spandex, and aramid.

Next-Generation Industrial Yarn (IDY) Pump Technology

Expanding its footprint in the technical textiles sector, Slack & Parr has introduced an upgraded range of specialist IDY pumps designed for high-viscosity polymer processing. These systems are built to operate under extreme conditions of high pressure and temperature, ensuring precise flow control even at variable speeds.

The company’s latest IDY pump development was carried out in collaboration with a leading Japanese plant equipment manufacturer. Through rigorous evaluation of pump design, material selection, and performance, followed by extensive trials, Slack & Parr’s solutions have been approved for integration into the manufacturer’s equipment. These pumps are now fully compatible with both new and existing industrial yarn machine installations worldwide.

Customised Configurations for Industry Needs

At ITMA Asia, visitors can explore Slack & Parr’s diverse pump configurations tailored for specific production requirements. Options include:

  • 1- and 2-outlet designs with capacities ranging from 5–50cc/rev, scalable to 100cc/rev in single-stream versions.
  • 4-outlet models with capacities from 15–50cc/rev.
  • Multiple sealing methods and drive options for enhanced adaptability.

Market Outlook & Growth

“We are witnessing consistent growth in the industrial yarn sector, as manufacturers seek to diversify into technical textiles, broaden their portfolios, and improve profitability while maintaining market competitiveness,” said Paul Wykes, Global Sales Director at Slack & Parr.

He further noted:
“Manufacturers traditionally focused on commodity fibres like polyester and nylon are now transitioning into specialty and industrial applications. With our proven expertise, long-standing product development, and the flexibility to customise solutions, Slack & Parr is ideally positioned to support this shift and collaborate with companies looking to expand into new markets.”
