The stage is set for a groundbreaking event as the Textile and Fashion Forum Helsinki 2023 is poised to unfold at the Little Finlandia event centre from October 26-27. This collaborative effort between Finnish Textile and Fashion and Euratex, the Brussels-based industry organization, promises to be a veritable showcase of innovative companies spearheading transformative change in the textiles and fashion sector.

Distinguished speakers, including luminaries like Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, President and CEO of Marimekko; Kai Mykkänen, Finland’s Minister of Climate and the Environment; Marcus Hartmann, Head of Public Affairs and Sustainability at H&M; Liljana K. Forssten, Range Strategist at IKEA; and, via video, European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius, will grace the event with their invaluable insights and expertise.

Marja-Liisa Niinikoski, CEO of Finnish Textile and Fashion, expressed her excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to welcome industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to Helsinki. Our fantastic speakers are at the forefront of sustainable fashion, each bringing unique know-how to drive positive change.”

The forum’s spotlight will be firmly fixed on crucial industry themes, most notably the development of various circular business models, digital transformation, and the expansion of emerging enterprises. It’s a testament to the industry’s commitment to redefining its future with sustainability as the guiding principle.

Dirk Vantyghem, Euratex Director General, highlighted the significance of such gatherings, stating, “Textiles are essential components of our society and our well-being. It is key for Europe to maintain its capacity to manufacture high-quality, sustainable, and high-technology textiles. That’s why we need events like this one, where the whole European value chain can meet and develop a common strategy for the future.”

The Textile and Fashion Forum Helsinki 2023 promises to be a pivotal moment in the journey towards a more sustainable and innovative textiles and fashion industry, setting the stage for a brighter, greener future. It’s an event that will not only spark dialogue but also inspire actionable change in an industry that touches the lives of everyone.
