eVent® Fabrics, a global pioneer in breathable, waterproof, and windproof fabric technologies, has expanded its partnership with Topo Athletic by supplying the sustainable stormST laminate for Topo’s latest model, the Phantom 4 WP road shoe.
Launched in Fall 2025, the Phantom 4 WP joins Topo’s expanding line of eco-forward waterproof shoes, including the Terraventure 4 WP and Trailventure 2 WP—all of which utilize eVent’s plant-based, PFAS-free stormST laminate.
“Our partnership with Topo is helping to set a new footwear industry standard,” said Chad Kelly, President of eVent Fabrics. “Topo’s growing use of our plant-based, PFAS-free stormST laminate shows that footwear brands do not have to give up performance to create more plant-positive products. We look forward to helping Topo continue their mission to reduce environmental impact while creating some of the best performing footwear on the market.”

Russ Stevens, Product Director at Topo Athletic, added:
“With stormST, we’re bringing the breathable, waterproof protection runners expect from eVent to the road. Phantom 4 WP delivers comfort you can count on, no matter the weather ahead.”
The eVent stormST laminate is engineered for lightness, strength, and flexibility, integrating a plant-based membrane with recycled or responsibly sourced face and backer fabrics, finished with a C0 DWR. Free of PFAS chemicals, this innovation provides the same reliable waterproof breathability eVent is known for, keeping wearers dry and comfortable in rain, snow, or slush — while reducing environmental impact.
Designed for runners and outdoor enthusiasts, Topo’s Phantom 4 WP enhances the original Phantom 4 with eVent stormST technology. The shoe features a ZipFoam™ midsole for responsive cushioning, a spacious toe box for comfort, and is priced at $165.
