Toyota Gears Up to Launch Three New SUVs in India

Toyota is set to expand its footprint in India’s SUV market with the launch of three new models between 2025 and 2026. The lineup will include a hybrid version of the Fortuner, an all-electric Urban Cruiser EV, and a seven-seater variant of the Hyryder. These additions are part of Toyota’s strategy to strengthen its hybrid and EV portfolio in the country.

The hybrid Fortuner is expected to debut in June 2025. It will feature a 2.8-liter diesel engine coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system, aiming to boost fuel efficiency and driving performance. Production has already commenced at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka.

In December 2025, Toyota plans to introduce its first fully electric vehicle in India—the Urban Cruiser EV. Built on the same platform as the Maruti e-Vitara, it will offer a range of over 500 km per charge. Following that, the seven-seater Hyryder is scheduled for an early 2026 launch, with both mild and strong hybrid variants, appealing to larger families seeking better mileage.
