Beaulieu International Group to Acquire IFG Asota GMBH, Expanding Global Synthetic Fibre Capabilities

Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) has announced the signing of a share purchase agreement to acquire IFG Asota GMBH, an Austria-based company active in the global synthetic staple fibres market. The transaction is expected to close by mid-February 2026, subject to customary conditions. No financial details have been disclosed.

IFG Asota GMBH is a recognised producer of synthetic staple fibres, with expertise spanning polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polyethylene (PE), and biopolymer fibres such as PLA. The company serves multiple end-use segments, including flooring, automotive, filtration, and technical applications. A key aspect of Asota’s operations is its research centre, which includes a pilot line that enables fibre prototyping and accelerates development timelines.

The acquisition will strengthen Beaulieu Fibres International (BFI), the Group’s Fibres Division, and support Beaulieu’s broader strategy to expand its capabilities in sustainable and high-performance nonwoven solutions. Asota’s experience in technical applications, biobased materials, and recycled polymers is expected to complement Beaulieu’s existing industrial and operational footprint.

According to Beaulieu, the transaction aligns with its objective of building a flexible global platform that combines manufacturing scale with advanced materials expertise. The Group aims to reinforce its position in existing markets while extending its reach into new applications and regions.

As part of the overall arrangement, IFG Exelto will enter into a toll manufacturing agreement with Beaulieu Fibres International following the completion of the acquisition. Under this agreement, Exelto will manufacture fibres on behalf of BFI, providing additional production flexibility and helping ensure continuity of supply for customers.

Following completion, Beaulieu and IFG Asota GMBH plan to continue investments in innovation, sustainability, and customer-oriented solutions, addressing evolving requirements in the nonwoven and technical textile sectors. The acquisition represents a significant step in Beaulieu’s long-term growth strategy for its global fibres business.
