Apparel Made-ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) has launched a dedicated employment portal for India’s apparel, made-ups and home furnishing sector, aimed at improving recruitment efficiency and bridging the workforce gap across the textile value chain.
The new portal, available at jobs.sscamh.com, is designed to connect employers directly with trained workers across apparel manufacturing units, export houses and home furnishing enterprises. The initiative is expected to formalise hiring in a sector that still relies heavily on informal recruitment channels.
Operating under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and National Skill Development Corporation, AMHSSC said the platform offers a centralised and transparent hiring solution. Employers can post vacancies, search profiles and hire talent directly without paying any fee or using intermediaries.
The council said the portal addresses a long-standing challenge in the industry — the mismatch between available trained manpower and changing workforce requirements. Textile manufacturers often struggle to identify skilled candidates despite a large trained workforce existing across multiple regions.
AMHSSC has encouraged skilled and semi-skilled workers, including machine operators, stitching professionals, cutting specialists, quality personnel, supervisors and fresh trainees, to register. The council said bringing more workers into a formal hiring ecosystem will improve access to jobs while increasing visibility for employers seeking qualified staff.
Ashish Srivastava, CEO of AMHSSC, said the portal has been developed to create a structured employment ecosystem for the industry. He noted that the platform allows job seekers to showcase qualifications, certifications, trade skills and preferred locations directly to employers, helping reduce inefficiencies in recruitment.
The launch comes as India’s apparel and home furnishing industry continues expanding, increasing the demand for trained workers across manufacturing, quality control and supervisory roles. AMHSSC said support from industry associations and training partners will be critical in strengthening adoption and making the platform an effective employment resource for the sector.
