Heberlein Strengthens Focus on Chinese Textile Market

Heberlein is strengthening its presence in China with its APh- and APe-series DTY air interlacing jets, while expanding local customer support through a new service hub in Shengze City. The company says its technologies combine yarn quality with reduced compressed-air consumption, an important operating-cost factor for textile mills.

Over the past 20 years, Heberlein has built a strong presence in the Chinese market, with its DTY jets used both for retrofitting existing facilities and for new investments. The company will showcase its APh- and APe-series at ITMA Asia + CITME 2026, scheduled for November 20–24 in Shanghai.

Air Covering for specialised yarn applications

Demand for Air Covering has remained strong in China. The process combines elastane with a covering yarn by interlacing the two components at regular intervals through a controlled air jet.

The resulting yarns provide stretch, comfort and surface properties and are used in applications including leggings and sportswear, underwear, hosiery and socks. Other uses include stretch fabrics for trousers and jeans, elasticated cuffs, and medical and compression textiles.

Air Covering enables manufacturers to adjust yarn structures according to the requirements of the final application. Parameters such as air pressure, jet geometry, overfeed, elastane draft and production speed can be modified to achieve the required interlacing and yarn performance. The resulting integrated yarn can also be processed in subsequent knitting and weaving operations.

APh-series targets air savings and knot stability

The APh-series is designed to provide either improved knot stability or lower compressed-air consumption. Since compressed air represents a significant operating expense for spinners, reducing its consumption remains an important objective.

According to comparative testing using PES dtex 330f96, the APh213 can reduce air consumption by up to 10%. The treatment is intended to support more reliable downstream processing or lower operating costs. Heberlein experts can evaluate potential improvements for specific yarn specifications.

APe-series delivers reduced air consumption

Heberlein’s APe-series is another area of focus for DTY applications. Tests have demonstrated compressed-air savings of up to 15% while maintaining yarn quality.

The company states that the Advanced Performance DTY interlacing jets can deliver a return on investment within 18 months, making the technology relevant for mills seeking improvements in operating efficiency.

At ITMA Asia + CITME 2026, visitors can consult Heberlein specialists regarding mill-specific opportunities related to processes, costs and quality. Heberlein will exhibit at Booth D41, Hall H6.1, at the Shanghai event from November 20 to 24, 2026.

New service hub expands local support

Heberlein has also established a new service hub in Shengze City, strengthening its local technical support capabilities. The facility has been operating since August 2026 and provides customers with local access to technical expertise and product support.

Services include rapid-response visits, minor maintenance and cleaning. The hub is equipped with a portable air generator, ultrasonic cleaning system, airflow meter and air splicer, allowing service work and practical testing to be conducted directly at customer sites.

The local team also provides troubleshooting assistance and technical support during product trials, enabling solutions to be tested and implemented more efficiently.

“We have opened the service hub in China as part of our long-term commitment to the Chinese market. The new service hub enables us to provide faster response times, stronger technical support and closer customer interaction,” says Martin Zuercher, CEO at Heberlein.
