State Plans 10 Textile Parks and a 1,000-Acre PM MITRA Park Between Lucknow and Hardoi
Uttar Pradesh’s textile sector is set for further expansion with investment proposals worth Rs 5,354 crore approved, while the state government is pursuing the development of 10 textile parks and a 1,000-acre PM MITRA Park between Lucknow and Hardoi, textile industry minister Rakesh Sachan said on Tuesday.
“Policies of Yogi govt and the investment-friendly environment have given new impetus to industries in the state along with infrastructure,” Sachan said.
Incentives Extended to Textile Investors
Sachan said incentives worth Rs 322 crore had been provided to around 116 investors under the 2017 and 2022 textile policies. Additional incentives worth Rs 96 crore had also been extended.
The minister said investors were being offered capital subsidy, 100% stamp duty exemption and up to 60% interest subsidy, along with concessions on land and electricity.
1,000-Acre PM MITRA Park Under Development
The PM MITRA Park is being developed across 1,000 acres at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore, Sachan said.
Infrastructure work at the site has progressed, with six-lane roads, a 125KV electricity line and water supply having reached the site. The master developer has also been finalised.
“CM Yogi Adityanath has set a target of developing 10 textile parks in the state,” Sachan said.
He added that land was available for Ship Parks in Amroha, Bijnor, Sant Kabir Nagar, Bareilly and Varanasi.
Government Support for Weavers
The state government is also supporting weavers through initiatives covering design, branding, packaging and digital marketing.
“This will help connect traditional skills with the modern market,” Sachan said.
According to the minister, handicraft exports from UP had touched around Rs 35,000 crore in 2025-26, while more than two lakh handloom weavers were associated with the sector.
