At Milano Unica 2025 DESTRO Fabrics is introduced as a partner

The new-generation wardrobe adventure began in 2024 with Brugnoli, Maggia, and Maglificio Ripa, and is advanced by woven alternatives for pants.

The collaboration between TENCELTM by Lenzing, a leader in wood-based cellulosic textile fibres, and ROICATM by Asahi Kasei, a pioneer in premium stretch fibre, continues to introduce the idea of sustainable and circularly driven textiles to a variety of applications, from lingerie to indoor sportswear or general apparel.

We will be able to introduce a new application that is crucial for modern consumers: pants and outerwear in general, due to our partnership with DESTRO Fabrics, in conjunction with the upcoming Milano Unica.

The focus of the collection will be on men’s and women’s pants, which will come in three distinct textures and provide excellent comfort, urban appeal, and a modern aesthetic. The decision to move towards an end of life with TENCELTM by Lenzing and ROICATM V550 degradable stretch fibre is undoubtedly a step in the direction of more transparency and a more circular strategy. Furthermore, we have used European-sourced cotton that is entirely spun and weaved in Cavernago, Italy.

fabrics where we will provide the historic softness of TENCELTM by Lenzing, the comfort of ROICATM premium stretch, and the pleasant, compact feel of cotton. Art. BIONIC BROKEN TWILL WEAVE, Art. BIOLOGIC TWILL L.H. WEAVE 4/2, and Art. BIOTECH PIQUET WEAVE are some of the highlights of this collection. They are made of 68% cotton, 30% TENCELTM Lyocell, and 2% ROICATM V550.

This launch is the start of a journey, as Destro Fabrics hopes to develop this idea further in next seasons, demonstrating its keen interest in comfort and sustainability innovation.

DESTRO Fabrics began its journey in 2010 with the specific goal of developing a high-value fabric collection that was valuable in terms of both product and human worth. In 2018, DESTRO Fabrics emerged alongside Eurotessile. With the help of DESTRO Fabrics’ ingenuity and Eurotessile’s Italian production facility for spinning and weaving, the brand expanded and is now known by the market for its genuineness, quality, and entirely made in Italy production. and excellent quality of service. In order to prevent CO2 emissions and potential supply issues brought on by current geopolitical uncertainties, Destro Fabrics supports a tightly closed supply chain. In addition to being GOTS, GRS, OCS, and OEKO-TEX® certified, Eurotessile’s production site is powered by solar panels, which provide one-third of the energy required annually.

In order to target modern consumers and the future generation of wardrobe buyers, our partners will exhibit four collections on stage at Milano Unica in February.

Asahi Kasei developed the degradable stretch fibre known as ROICATM V550 utilising a unique polymer technique. It offers a long-term, sustainable solution. OWS has confirmed that this novel fibre partially degrades under ISO 14855-1 conditions, converting to CO2 and water. In addition, it is the first Cradle to Cradle-CertifiedTM stretch yarn in the world to get a Material Health Gold Level accreditation.

Cellulosic fibres TENCELTM Lyocell and Modal are made from wood, a natural raw material from forests that have been certified. Not only does this botanical origin affect the production’s environmental effect, but it also affects how long the fibres last. TENCELTM fibres are completely biodegradable in soil, freshwater, and saltwater. At the conclusion of their life cycle, TENCELTM Lyocell and Modal fibres may decompose and compost (confirmed by TÜV Australia). In recognition of the fibres’ high environmental standards over the course of their whole lifespan, they are additionally recognised with the EU Ecolabel (license no. AT/016/001) for environmental excellence.
